Whether we discover it ourselves or hear about it from a buddy, we’ve got our ear to the ground for new players or overlooked workhorses in skincare and wellness. Here, we’re sharing what our editors are reviewing and loving.

Did Huron Produce a Triple Hitter?
Huron is the only brand we’ve reviewed on this site where every product we’ve tried we’ve ending up loving. So we were definitely expecting greatness from their conditioner (you can check out our other reviews here and here). The conditioner is obviously a complement to their shampoo, though we tried it by itself aka what’s referred to as cowashing (short for for conditioner-washing when your conditioner stands in for shampoo skipping the first step altogether) and we’ve gotta say that it holds its own in both situations.

The Under Eye Cream We’ve Never Heard Of
The eye cream claims to contain a combination of ingredients to help prevent “chronic inflammation, or ‘inflam-aging,’ which causes dryness, dehydration, irritation, and premature aging.” Aiming to help reduce fine lines, this cream also promises to also help “diminish the appearance of dark circles and reduce under-eye puffiness.”

The Shaving Cream That Feels Like You Rubbed Dentyne Ice On Your Face
You’ve probably been shaving with the same drugstore can of cream for, well, as long as you can remember. But that doesn’t mean that other options don’t exist. Anthony’s Shave Cream is a pearlescent whip that goes on fairly smoothly but doesn’t foam up.

The Best Face Wipes We’ve Tried Thus Far
We’ve tried a lot of wipes and arguably there’s no better time to do so: late spring means hot weather, more sweat, and more grease. It also means more travel, particularly since the world is opening up again. Now is the perfect time to find the right wipe which can serve you well, whether you need to clean your face after a workout at the gym (those are opening we hear), back at the office (those are apparently now opening too), or when you reach your travel destination (travel is possible!).

But Have You Shaved With A No Lather Shaving Cream?
Shaving is something many guys do every day and for guys with sensitive skin, it can be torture. We tried Vitaman’s Natural Shaving Cream which promises to deeply moisturize your skin pre-shave to soften your face and stubble and calm inflammation.

A Dual Soap and Sponge for Lazy People (aka All of Us)
Despite many of us working from home these days, it seems like everyone is still pressed for time. Daily Concepts’ Multi-functional Soap Sponge Charcoal (theoretically) fixes that. This is a bar of soap that has a sponge attached to the back. After wetting your face, rub the bar of soap on it and then scrub with the sponge which comes in three grades (ours was medium).

Why We Love This Basic Deodorant
We’re big on not gendering products around here: many of our favorite products that we’ve reviewed haven’t been found in the ‘men’s section’ at all. That being said, we wouldn’t blame you if you thought that Dove was a brand targeted to women (by that we mean there’s a whole line of products under Men+Care…). But we reached across the aisle anyway and tried their Advanced Care Antiperspirant Deodorant Stick Cool Essentials.

The Solution to a Clean Face in a Pinch
We’ve tried a face wipe before and were thus a little wary about trying one again. If you missed our review of Oars + Alps’ Cooling + Cleansing Wipes, you can check that out here. So when Anthony’s Glycolic Exfoliating and Resurfacing Wipes came across our desks, we had the same sort of expectations from that last go around.

A Blemish Cream That’s Not Neutrogena
Every now and then blemishes happen to the best of us no matter how well we take care of our skin. We rely on Neutrogena to clear our skin quickly, but as we’re always up to try something new, we thought we’d give Balanceme’s Congested Skin Serum a try. A British brand founded in 2005, Balanceme prides itself on being natural which they define as products made with “sustainable, renewable ingredient[s] that [are] kind to your skin – and to the earth.

Cosplay as a Surfer With This Face and Body Wash
It’s getting warmer as spring rolls on, and for those of us still wearing face masks, that means it’s potentially another season of mascne. We had Vitaman’s Face and Body cleanser to try, so after we got home from grocery shopping, we headed to the bathroom to try this stuff out. The ingredients is reads like botanist’s guide to the healing power of plants: Aloe Vera Leaf Juice promotes minor wound, burns, and rash healing and is an excellent moisturizer and emollient; it’s also an excellent soother, healer, repairer and collagen booster. Witch Hazel is a natural cleanser that is also anti-bacterial

Is That Your Cologne or the Hand Soap?
With spring in full swing, we thought it was as good a time as any to try a fresh-smelling cologne. Just as the seasons change, you too can change your cologne along with it (see our handy dandy guide on navigating personal fragrance here). We tried Cool Water by Davidoff, an aquatic fragrance that has been around since 1988.

A Mask for Dudes, But Is It a Dud?
Founded in 2019 by Samantha Bergmann and Christopher Carl, HeTime is a face mask designed with men in mind. Sure men might have 25% thicker skin than women, but ultimately it seems that its selling point is that it’s shaped to fit men’s bigger faces and doesn’t overlap with their facial hair (in theory).

A Natural, Environmentally Friendly Scrub From Australia
The scrub boasts other ingredients including: Aloe vera leaf juice - Aloe Babadensis’s nourishing properties promote minor wound, burn and rash healing and is an excellent moisturizer and emollient and collagen booster. Sweet Orange Peel Oil - an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory and been shown to increase the ability to absorb vitamin C, collagen production, and blood flow, all of which are essential for anti-aging.

We Woke Up With Dewy, Smooth Skin Around Our Eyes Using This
If you didn’t already know, the skin around your eyes is the most delicate on your face. That means it’s super important to target aging here since it’s prone to showing signs first: since it’s quite thin, it’s more susceptible to breaking down which translates to (potentially) laxity, fine lines, wrinkles, becoming looser, and becoming even thinner.

Did Huron Make A Good Shampoo Too?
After we tried Huron’s body wash, we were sold. So it wasn’t hard for us to actually want to try their shampoo which was, truthfully, not much different than their body wash. That same thick, pearlescent formula is found here which we absolutely love because it sticks to your mane, allowing you to work it into a rich lather.

This Luggage Company Makes Cologne (And It’s Not Louis Vuitton)
If you thought Tumi was only an expensive luggage maker found in the mall, you’d be wrong. Aside from travel accessories, they also make cologne. This would make sense if you think about the whole journey - when you arrive at your destination and can’t go straight to your AirBnB, you probably want to smell nice. We were curious to see how a they would handle scent - based on the fact that it’s made by a luggage maker alone (and it’s not Louis Vuitton, a behemoth that spans fashion and lifestyle), we were concerned it might feel like a cheap merch item, something you’d get complimentary with purchase.

A Hair Mask With Avocado, Banana, and Coconut?
With an ingredient list boasting avocado oil, banana, coconut milk, and agave, we felt healthier just by looking at the label. Like drinking a fresh-pressed green juice after pilates healthy.

This Made Us Smell Like an Expensive Department Store
Colognes are tricky. They appear enticing in commercials or spellbind when you read the fragrance notes, but it’s a completely different beast when you wear them on your skin. We say this as a preface because 1899 from Histoire de Parfums not only announces itself, it’s definitely there with you throughout the day, something that is not always the case with a fragrance.

The Key to Keeping Your Dopp Kit Clean and Organized
Inevitably, no matter how well we pack or how organized we are, something always spills in our luggage. Whether it’s leaky cologne, a shampoo bottle that we didn’t tighten enough, or the toothpaste (it’s always the toothpaste!), there’s nothing worse than unpacking only to realize you have a wet or sticky mess that has spilled all over your other things.

A 2-in-1 Face Wash/Mask Combo That Makes Your Face a Clean Canvas
If you’ve ever taken a ceramics class, you know the oddly satisfying feeling of squishing clay in your hands. Jack Black’s Deep Dive® Glycolic Facial Cleanserwith Kaolin Clay & Volcanic Ash can satisfy that urge between your classes. This is a clay-based cleanser that washes away dead skin cells, pore-clogging oil, and any buildup accumulated throughout the day.
