The Solution to a Clean Face in a Pinch

We’ve tried a face wipe before and were thus a little wary about trying one again. If you missed our review of Oars + Alps’ Cooling + Cleansing Wipes, you can check that out here. So when Anthony’s Glycolic Exfoliating and Resurfacing Wipes came across our desks, we had the same sort of expectations from that last go around. We tried these wipes at the end of the day, so it had to cut through the products on our face like moisturizer, spot treatments, and sunscreen, as well as the oil that naturally accumulates from daily activities and a round at the gym. Needless to say you could feel the day needing to be washed off. These wipes offer two sides, a textured and a smooth side. You begin by using the textured side which we had to say was a bit more refined than Oars + Alps’ - still a tad rough but better than Oars’ which felt like something for the interior of your car. Immediately after, you flip it to the smooth side and wipe down your face all over again. Powered by glycolic acid derived from sugarcane, these wipes claim to clear away grime and impurities, exfoliate dead skin cells, and help to minimize the appearance of pores. The glycolic acid also helps to encourage cell renewal to brighten and restore a dull appearance while the Vitamin E protects your skin from free-radical damage; aloe soothes the skin while ginseng and menthol invigorate it. We do have to say that we liked them better than Oars’ wipes. The downside? The wipes smelled like vinegar. And, like any wipe, it does leave your face feeling a little tacky afterwards. That being said, we can definitely see this as a great option if you’re traveling and public restroom averse or perhaps camping in which case we’d finish by giving our face a quick rinse with water to rid ourselves of that stickiness. It’s a go for us.
