Whether we discover it ourselves or hear about it from a buddy, we’ve got our ear to the ground for new players or overlooked workhorses in skincare and wellness. Here, we’re sharing what our editors are reviewing and loving.

You Should be Rooting for this Gem of a Soap Company from Norfolk
What we’ve found after all the products that we’ve tried is that natural usually tends to smell better (and more interesting). And that’s certainly the case with a brand we stumbled across on our travels: Sop (which stands for Scents of place). Scent is the most powerful of the five senses and is one of the first things we notice about a product, so the fact that this brand pays attention to it is smart.

Need to Nuke Acne? Try This
Getting breakouts as an adult can be frustrating, whether it’s because you’ve got something important to go to, have a date, or just have to go into the office. You want something fast and effective to treat it, especially if it’s just one or two spots. If you need something stronggg, we recommend Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel.

Not All Cleansers Are Created Equal - This One Wasn’t
We checked out Rodial’s Vit C Brightening Cleanser which comes in an eye-catching bright orange bottle that took us straight back to 90’s packaging. Inside was a translucent gel cleanser that felt just one notch below Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser in terms of thickness.

You’ll Want Everyone You Know To Try This Face Mask
No one would blame if you thought that this face wash by Lavido is the hero product of Sprouts’ own self-care line. Originating from the Galilee valley, a remote, untouched region of Israel, Lavido was launched in 2003 by plant chemist Ido Mahal from a passion for herbal chemistry.

Hey, Does Sprouts Have a Self-care Line?
No one would blame if you thought that this face wash by Lavido is the hero product of Sprouts’ own self-care line. Originating from the Galilee valley, a remote, untouched region of Israel, Lavido was launched in 2003 by plant chemist Ido Mahal from a passion for herbal chemistry.

Be Fearless, Try Women’s Fragrances
We weren’t big fans of her show or her ditzy persona, but Rachel Zoe does do great fragrances. And home goods. But we’re here to talk about her fragrance Fearless which, yes, is marketed to females but we’ve gotta say it’s the first we’ve tried that really does feel like there could be crossover appeal.

The First Mask We’ve Liked in a Looong Time
It seems like face masks are a dime a dozen these days (you can even get them from Target along with your groceries and home goods). But a good, GOOD face mask is something that feels even harder to come by. That’s why we were excited to try and share with you our favorite new find, Aprilskin’s Real Calendula Deep Essence Mask.

The OTHER French Product We’ve Been Wanting To Try
One of our greatest finds was Acure’s Brightening Facial Scrub which just so happened to be made with French green clay. So it made us curious if we’d strike gold twice when we tried Mudmasky’s Vitamin A Booster French Clay Mask.

The Gentle K-beauty Product For Brighter Skin
Brighter skin is something that a lot of people seemingly yearn for these days, especially in the age of social media and better cameras. But particularly for those prone to hyperpigmentation, at-home treatments instead of going under a laser or microdermabrasion are particularly useful if you don’t have a lot of money to shell out for these pricey treatments that often require more than one visit.

This Shampoo Gets You Cleaner Than Clean
Shampoo isn’t normally something to get excited about unless it’s really special. And we think this shampoo is really special. Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree shampoo contains tea tree oil, peppermint, and lavender which work to really clean your hair (seriously we haven’t felt this clean since we tried using vinegar).

This Fragrance Has All Look And No Substance
In our continual quest to break down the gender barrier in fragrance, we tried Fame which is a perfume marketed towards women. This is a warm floral with notes of mango, jasmine, and incense.

Crocodile Skin? Leave It To Clinique
Like cleansers, all lotions are not created equal. And if you’re prone to super dry skin or have itchy, cracked skin that needs immediately relief and healing, we have the goods. Or rather Clinique does.

This Is The Fanciest Complexion Corrector We’ve Used Yet
Sometimes your skin can use a little bit of correcting, especially if you’re prone to scarring. We got our hands on Babor’s Ampoule Concentrates Perfect Glow curious to see what would happen to us over the course of 7 days (because this stuff is so fancy, they only give you 7 glass capsules that you then have to break in order to use them!).

This Cleanser Is Magic
If you thought all cleansers were the same, we’re here to say that is 100% not the case. Usually we come across a gel or a cream-based cleanser to wash away the days’ gunk from our face. But would you ever put more oil on your face to clean it?

Can This Fix My Dry Summer Pool Hair?
It’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to deal with dried out hair from all that chlorine. We tried Marc Anthony Grow Long Super Fast Strength Leave-in Conditioner which promises to not only detangle your hair, but nourish and smooth it with its blend of ginseng, vitamin E, and caffeine.

Seriously Buy This If You’re Wanting to Upgrade From Cetaphil
Who didn’t grow up with Cetaphil? Whether you use their Gentle or Daily cleanser, it’s a great product that we’d totally understand if it was still in regular rotation in our medicine cabinet. But if you’re looking for another amazing cleanser just to change things up, The Body Shop has just the thing. We’re talking about their Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash.

We Just Found Your First Must Have of 2023
Whether you’ve been working out, going about your day, or just naturally get oily skin, not being able to do something about the shine that accrues from those oils can not only be embarrassing but lead to clogged pores (that’s standard self-care knowledge). And even if you are someone who carries a tote, briefcase, or backpack around, chances are you’re not carrying a facial cleanser with you. Enter Papers by by Frontman.

Should I Drop $100+ on a Fragrance?
We’re calling it: fragrance is going to be the next big thing like face masks were before them. (And it’s only a matter of time before it trickles into the wellness space - you heard it here first.) But with so many options out there, is it worth dropping $135 on a bottle?

We Try That Italian Toothpaste In Every Magazine
It can be hard to resist the temptation of wanting to try fashion’s most beloved toothpaste - you see it in so many editorials and even if you didn’t, its packaging is enough to pique your curiosity. So needless to say that our second go with Marvis is super disappointing in that it continues to be a letdown.

Is ‘Soap for Men’ Worth It?
We haven’t quite found what differentiates soap for men from soap for women. In all of our surveying or testing, what we’ve found is packaging and scent determines whether or not you end up in one aisle versus another. And so it seems to be the case with Dove’s Men+Care Body + Face Bar.
