Should I Drop $100+ on a Fragrance?

We’re calling it: fragrance is going to be the next big thing like face masks were before them. (And it’s only a matter of time before it trickles into the wellness space - you heard it here first.) But with so many options out there, is it worth dropping $135 on a bottle? That is up to you and your finances. We tried Commodity’s Moss which describes itself as “crisp and earthy.” We felt that was misleading - at best, this is a fall scent, not something we’d categorize as spring. And while at first hit it did smell quite fresh (it reminded us of the heart of a pine tree), this is really dominated by the cedar wood and oak moss. The notes of grapefruit and orange blossom counterbalance those two, giving what would be a traditional woody fragrance a definite sweetness. We disagree with Commodity’s description of this being “fresh, green and earthy…wet, cool, clean, and reviving” - it’s definitely much warmer than that and it’s not a bad thing! It’s probably what the guy on the Bounty paper towel roll smells like! It also gets bonus points for how long-lasting it is. Just know that if you’re looking for something without the sweetness this may not be the investment for you.
