Can This Fix My Dry Summer Pool Hair?

With summer fast approaching (we know it’s the start of spring but in some parts of the country it’s pool weather already!), it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to deal with dried out hair from all of that chlorine. We tried Marc Anthony’s Grow Long Super Fast Strength Leave-in Conditioner which promises to not only detangle your hair, but nourish and smooth it with its blend of ginseng, vitamin E, and caffeine. After getting out of the water - in this case, our shower - we applied a quarter sized amount on our damp hair from its roots to the end then left it to dry. This is a pretty runny, white cream which means it’s probably going to take more than a quarter sized amount depending on how much hair you have or how thick it is. We weren’t crazy about the consistency but if you’ve got long hair we can see how it’d work better there. It definitely did its job in lubricating the hair shafts, making it verrrry easy to run our fingers or a comb through our hair. It also really did help provide immediate softness once our hair dried. But we also didn’t like that it smelled as if we rubbed our head with a Jolly Rancher - or that we borrowed our girlfriend’s product. Ultimately we want to only recommend the best and we feel like there’re better leave-in conditioners out there. It’s a pass.
