A Natural, Environmentally Friendly Scrub From Australia

We were eager to try Vitaman for the first time, a line of natural skin and hair products catered specifically to men. Unfortunately when we popped open the cap of their scrub, we immediately knew there was trouble ahead. Just by looking at it, we could tell there was very little in it to actually help exfoliate - in this case the company uses crushed walnut shell and bamboo powder rather than micro beads, a move we wholeheartedly applaud - but the ratio of abrasive to the rest of the solution was far too low and the consistency looked too oily and runny. That proved to the be the case as we applied it to our face as we really had to search for the granules to actually exfoliate. The scrub boasts other ingredients including:

  • Aloe vera leaf juice - Aloe Babadensis’s nourishing properties promote minor wound, burn and rash healing and is an excellent moisturizer and emollient and collagen booster

  • Sweet Orange Peel Oil - an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory and been shown to increase the ability to absorb vitamin C, collagen production, and blood flow, all of which are essential for anti-aging

  • Allantoin - contains anti-inflammatory, healing, calming, and nourishing properties help stimulate the growth of healthy skin cells

  • Coconut oil - helps repair damaged skin, is an effective moisturizer suitable for all types of skin, and a safer alternative to mineral oil for preventing dryness and flaking of the skin while also delaying wrinkles and sagging

Yet no matter how many good things it tries to cram in, ultimately this felt like what a budget hotel would leave in the bathroom, a lotion pretending to be a scrub that felt completely ineffective. We give it points for smelling like lemon grass and not using micro beads. However t

his product from Down Under was a downright disappointment and is way overpriced for what it is - it’s a pass.
