If you’ve ever taken a ceramics class, you know the oddly satisfying feeling of squishing clay in your hands. Jack Black’s Deep Dive® Glycolic Facial Cleanserwith Kaolin Clay & Volcanic Ash can satisfy that urge between your classes. This is a clay-based cleanser that washes away dead skin cells, pore-clogging oil, and any buildup accumulated throughout the day. The genius is in its 2-in-1 function. Use it as you would any normal cleanser, applying a small amount to wet hands on a slightly damp face. Or use it as a purifying mask, allowing it to dry on your skin for at least 5 minutes. Either way you use it, the stone-colored cleanser is as thin as the slip you’d use while throwing clay on a wheel, unlike a lot of clay masks which are super thick. It also smells earthy, so if you’re expecting that fantastic Turbo Wash scent that Jack Black is famous for, it’s not to be found. What is to be found is volcanic ash which has revitalizing antioxidants, and work as a gentle physical exfoliant. The ash, while there, is definitely tiny, so you’r not going to feel like you’re rubbing a sugar or walnut shell scrub on yourself. We loved the
glycolic acid (a chemical exfoliant that helps to remove dead skin buildup and prevents ingrown hairs) and the kaolin clay itself which draws out skin impurities, oil, and dirt. This stuff pulls out all of the oil leaving your skin super soft and a blank canvas on which to apply your other products without leaving it feel stripped, overly-dry, or tight. Use this after a full day doing intense outdoor activities like hiking or beach going, or even just after a music festival where you’re probably going to be caked in sweat/sunscreen/face paint.
