This Men’s Brand Makes a Hand Cream

With our frequent hand washing due to the ongoing pandemic and our work in the garden prepping for spring, our hands have been dry, chapped, and blistered. That’s where we hoped Anthony would deliver. We were encouraged that they claimed that their lightweight hand cream “helps heal and soothe dry, chapped, cracked hands, diminishing tough calluses and healing unsightly cuticles.” As it turned out, Anthony is one of those go-to men’s brands which reminds us of that guy who seems great from afar but when you get to know him, turns out to be a total let down for being nothing more than ordinary. Or at least in this case anyway. The white cream smells like Colgate toothpaste (minty) when you first put it on, but sadly the scent fades quickly. It also straddles the line between being oily and just dry - that odd inconsistency is what we’d expect from a Dollar Store lotion, or that tube that’s been sitting in your car forever and has now expired and chemically separated. Though are hands looked hydrated, they didn’t feel hydrated. We liked that it promised that AHAs help even skin tone and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, that glycerin, sodium PCA, and coconut oil hydrate hands, and wheat protein tightens and aqua cacteen replenishes dry, dehydrated skin, but it wasn’t something we wanted to stick around for. More baffling is that Anthony claims it’s award-winning - we have to ask, who is awarding this anything? It’s a pass.
