Upgrade Your Generic Brand Body Wash

The cold of winter makes us look forward to showers not only for warming up, but as an excuse to try new body washes. We got our hands on one from Huron, one of those recent DTC men’s personal care brands like Disco and Hims: a former athlete, Matt Mullenax founded Huron in 2018 when he started to use more premium products but couldn’t justify spending $70+ on personal care products. So began his quest to create a brand that offered similarly efficacious products at approachable price points. The body wash includes

menthol and eucalyptus, ginseng, and witch hazel along with coconut oil, vitamin E, and vitamin B5 to soothe and moisturize.

This is a clear gel that scores major points for how thick it is - the stuff has a good weight and sticks to you as you wash, unlike a lot of shower gels (particularly the generic stuff) which is watered down and slips out of your hand only to be washed down the drain before you can even lather. A faint smell of menthol and eucalyptus is present, but far less so than Jack Black’s Turbo Wash which has a similar profile, and certainly far, far less than Old Spice’s stuff. And that’s where Huron falls in price point: if you want something a bit more expensive than Old Spice but far less than Jack Black, go with Huron.
