This Thing Is Our New Favorite Way to Relax

Working from home these days doesn’t preclude us from getting a bit tense. Sure, the stress of going to and from the office are so last decade (that’s a 2021 joke), but sometimes we still feel overwhelmed. We’re always on the look out for ways to destress, so we were eager to try Badger’s Headache Soother. Badger is a classic American brand out of Gilsum, New Hampshire known for its Badger Balm for Hardworking Hands and which has expanded into a whole range of products much like Burt’s Bees. This is basically a giant chapstick that you can apply to different parts of your body, nose and lips included, making it (rather conveniently) portable aromatherapy. Badger even has a whole aromatherapy travel kit. This guy packs menthol crystals (mint essence created by a freezing process), eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, and mandarin, so you can bet it smells amazing. We applied it to our temples and under our nose, then began the massage which we outline how to do below. We were skeptical at best: when you’re stressed, you know you just want it to go away immediately and use a tried and true method to do so. For us personally, this really did help us destress (in combination with massage), but of course everybody’s body is different and you should always consult with your doctor before you change any sort of tried and true medical regime, particularly if you’ve already been prescribed something for your stress or headaches. We will definitely be putting this in our dopp kit - paired with a sleep mask, travel never looked so easy.

To Ease Stress And Tension…

  • Place your thumbs on your cheekbones close to your ears, and use your fingertips (we like the index and middle finger) to gently apply pressure and rub your temples

  • Using firm pressure in a tiny circular motion, gradually move your fingers up along your hairline until they meet in the middle of your forehead, massaging your entire forehead slowly as you go along to its middle
