The Face Wash for When You Need a Hit of Something Stronger

When it comes to skincare and grooming, few products elicit a stronger reaction than face wash. Maybe it’s because it’s the one thing that everyone uses regardless of how experienced they are with skincare, or that everyone has had a traumatic experience with a face wash that caused extreme dryness or resulted in an unwanted breakout. Anthony is one of those perennial favorite men’s brands featured everywhere from GQ to Forbes. Curious, we took their Glycolic Facial Cleanser out for a spin.

This is a pearlescent cream that’s fairly thick. Rubbing it onto your face, you’ll notice that it’s non-foaming and smells like a Flintstone vitamin (weird but that’s where our scent memory went). What really sets it apart though is its 4.2% glycolic acid which helps remove the outermost layer of dead cells and prevents clogged pores, ingrown hairs, and razor bump. While Anthony claims that it’s also ideal for helping reduce the appearance of scarring, skin discoloration, signs of aging and acne, and fine lines and wrinkles, we think that it’s simply a nice upgrade from your Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Both leave us feeling the same sort of clean without drying us out (which may be due in this case to the inclusion of aloe vera providing/retaining moisture and vitamins A, C, and E nourishing the skin), but the inclusion of glycolic acid is a nice addition for doing a little bit more for your skin on a daily basis.
