This Is a Need Not a Want

Oily skin can bothersome and embarrassing, not to mention make it hard to find the right combination of products that won’t add further shine. That’s why we were delighted to try Kieh’s Oil Eliminator 24-Hour Anti-Shine Moisturizer. We’re always a bit skeptical of products promising to do what they say or perhaps just existing to sell us something that we don’t even need, but Kiehl’s definitely proved us wrong and we’re glad they did. Able to be used both morning and night, this lightweight moisturizer feels luxuriously midnight and goes on smoothly before soaking in super quickly, all without leaving any trace of itself behind. In fact, it actually absorbs sweat and surface oil while helping visibly minimize pores. Even when we layered our other products on top of it including sunscreen (and stepping outside for some Vitamin D), superfluous oil was kept under control. This is packed with Totara Wood extract, derived from the New Zealand-native Totara tree, which helps with pore minimization. It’s also got glycerin to help retain moisture and soften skin. But perhaps what sets this Double Mint-smelling formula apart is the aerogel which tones down shine while mattifying your skin. Not only did we notice our skin feel moist, but it did so without leaving it feeling greasy; our velvety soft skin felt as clean as anytime after we exfoliate it. Bonus: this guy held up all day and into the night. This is a buy for us (and will be a mainstay in our medicine cabinets).
