An Affordable Hand Sanitizer That Feels Super Expensive

Even pre-COVID, keeping your hands cleanon the go or after you touched a lot of public surfaces was kind of important. But now that COVID doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, it’s as serious as ever to do what you can to keep yourself and others healthy. There are lot of hand sanitizers on the market - most of us probably fall back on Purell - but that can aggressively dry your hands out. We’ve tried the one with aloe but that leaves a sticky residue. Options from the likes of Bath & Body Works (yes they make stuff for men too) can go for $6.50 - a nice upgrade but it can quickly add up if you want to buy a couple. That’s why we fell in love with Trader Joe’s Lavender Hand Sanitizer Spray. We found ours at our local Trader Joe’s for $1.99, but if you’re not close to one, you can get them here. With moisturizing aloe and vitamin E, it manages to kill 99.9% of germs while smelling like lavender you’ve picked yourself. From a farm. In Provence. No synthetic ‘lavender-like’ scent here. We also liked that one spray alone generously coated our entire hand in a cool, fine mist (achieving that feeling of running your hand through a cloud for under two dollars is impressive - who hasn’t gotten a spray bottle only to be dismayed that the liquid came out like a jet?). This feels like a small luxury that should be more expensive than it is: leave it to Trader Joe’s to once again show that quality and price are not mutually exclusive.
