A Face Scrub That Smells Like Fruity Pebbles?

Smelling like Fruity Pebbles may sound like one of those saccharine products from Bath & Body Works, but in fact it was actually Vitaman’s Face Scrub. Like Z Skin’s Morning Acne Facewash, this exfoliator confusingly felt like we were slathering on a lotion, probably because it felt fatty (like pureed avocado) and  also had too few walnut shells and too little bamboo powder to actually exfoliate our skin. Though there isn’t any alcohol and is pH balanced, we felt a little tight after using it. Vitaman uses organic white tea as a base ingredient instead of water - other ingredients include:

  • Aloe vera leaf juice - Promotes minor wound, burn and rash healing and is a moisturizer and emollient; a skin/hair soother, healer, repairer and collagen booster

  • Sweet orange peel oil - Antiseptic and anti-inflammatory; shown to increase the ability to absorb vitamin C, collagen production, and blood flow

  • Allantoin - Anti-inflammatory, healing, calming, and nourishing to help stimulate the growth of healthy skin cells

  • Coconut oil - Repairs damaged skin

Oh and that Fruity Pebbles scent? It’s Lemon Myrtle. Though it all sounds nice, we largely felt unsatisfied. We want to feel clean and like we actually exfoliated, not like we pushed around something with the consistency of yogurt on our face. Pass on this.
