The Brand Under Your Nose Fighting Dark Circles

Dark circles and thinning hair are two concerns we hear about from guys the most as they age, and yet many still don’t know what to do about it (which is why we’re convinced many go full Paul Bunyan and grow huge beards – it’s a slippery slope to plaid shirts and Americana workwear…). While many startups have begun to address these concerns and steer guys away from those cheesy Rogaine commercials and skin products that look ordered from a SkyMall catalog (remember those?), there are brands who have been making stuff for dark circles for years. Kiehl’s, no stranger to many men, produces its Powerful-Strength Dark Circle Reducing Vitamin C Eye Serum.

This guy boasts three key ingredients: Vitamin C, known to help boost radiance, improve texture, and visibly reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles; tri-peptides to counteract the visible effects of dark circles and puffiness; and Hyaluronic Acid to reduce facial lines and refine texture.

Once you apply your other serums, but just before you apply your spot treatment, you’ll want to apply this, a thick, whipped cream the color of orange sherbet. Kiehl’s claims that it helps decrease the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, lines, and crow’s feet, reduces both blue and brown dark circles, and smoothes and hydrates the under-eye area to refresh the appearance of tired-looking eyes.

We did notice smooth skin under our eyes devoid of any skin texture that wrinkles only exacerbate, and a good sort of firmness: things looked fresh and tight. The product does warn that it can lead to stinging and flaking which we definitely experienced, but it’s important to remember that everybody’s body is different. Kiehl’s makes some amazing products (we still have their discontinued Fig Leaf & Sage Aromatic Mist which we use sparingly – Kiehl’s, please bring this back thank you for your considerationnn). But with so many other people apparently experiencing similar skin irritation and for the price you’re paying, ther’re a lot of other more mainstream brands that can treat similar issues without the pain (in both your face and wallet).
