We Never Thought We’d Say Stick With Axe But Here We Are

Body washes from Axe and even Old Spice are like the McDonald’s of male grooming - they consistently put out a good product appealing to the masses. It’s definitely not Jack Black’s Turbo Wash, but for literally 1/4th of the price you get 6 ounces more and in these inflationary times, who doesn’t like a bargain? Like it or not, Axe and Old Spice have set the bar for what a men’s body wash should smell like and what its viscosity should be, so trying to best it is hard. Rocky Mountain Barber Company’s All-In-One Shower Wash (Cedar Spice) is definitely not a victorious challenger. Its first misstep is trying to be beard wash, body wash, and face wash - all three parts have different needs. Sure it got us feeling clean without drying us out, but what started out as promising cedar turned out to smell like candy, probably due to the orange sweet oil and cinnamon leaf oil. And that’s really all there was to this guy - another ship passing in the night from a small brand that didn’t unseat the standard bearer but also wasn’t memorable enough to be terribly offensive. For $12.99 it’s just not worth it.
