Is This Do Good Fragrance Too Gimmicky?

Absolutely not. In fact, it’s one of the better fragrances we’ve sampled this year. But let’s back up: if you’ve never heard of Sanctuary, this is a brand where your purchase gives back - in this case, $1 from each purchase of an 8 ml vial of Amur Leopard will benefit the Amur Leopard Conservation Project of Phoenix Fund which focuses on increasing the current wild population while establishing a second, separate population in a protected environment. It’s a praiseworthy philanthropic goal that isn’t anything new. Where Sanctuary is leading the way is in how it produces its products: their list bars over 1,000 items from production, using only those which do no harm to humans, animals, or the environment. Shipping boxes and fragrance sleeves are FSC certified and come from trees growing in a responsibly-managed forest, and glass bottles are made from post-industrial recycled glass. As climate action has become front and center, Sanctuary is one of the only brands we’ve come across which is so thoughtful in their products’ impact.

It gets even better though when you get to the actual fragrance itself: fresh rosemary is juxtaposed with crisp apple and warm amber, while heady leather woods and tonka bean rounds out the scent. It’s definitely warm, woody, and spicy that somehow also smells fresh at first sniff. This is a familiar scent profile, but a reliable one.
