If You Secretly Like Herbal Essence, You’ll Love This Shampoo

There are only so many times you can smell the same smell over and over again before your eyes (and nose) begin to wander down the shampoo aisle - why is it that all men’s products kind of smell the same? So if you’ve ever wondered why guys can’t have shampoos that smell like mango and ginger, then let us introduce to Davines. Davines’ SOLU shampoo smells both herbaceous and grapefruit-y all at once, a pink syrup in a clear bottle that looks as good as it smells. With natural and active ingredients, this guy is especially formulated to remove the residue of styling products. And it did just that, thoroughly cleansing our hair without leaving it feeling stripped and dry or our scalp tight and itchy.

If you have never heard of Davines, neither had we until we came across it. Founded in Parma, Italy in 1983 by the Bollati Family, Davines started as a research laboratory, producing high-end hair care products for renowned cosmetic companies. Guided by Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) defined in the UN Agenda 2030, the formulations they favor use ingredients of natural origin, are generated with renewable electric energy, and packaged minimizing environmental impact. This is a company that doesn’t attempt to greenwash their product - case in point: at their headquarters in Parma, Davines oversees a 9,800 square foot garden, where their researchers investigate the properties of plants for future products. In their SOLU Shampoo, valtellina buckwheat extract is grown on a farm in Teglio, Sondrio, Italy as a part of Slow Food Presidia; buckwheat is rich in proteins, antioxidants, amino acids and mineral salts, especially iron, zinc and selenium.

If you like the smell and what it does for your hair, they’ve also got a matching exfoliating scalp scrub. And if you’ve got other needs (like anti-breakage or curls to tend to) they’ve got specially formulated shampoos for that too. This is a buy.
